Straightening

Straightening cannon barrels up to 40′ long, this 1500-ton press was built with advanced measurement capabilities. Automatically rotating the workpiece and positioning pressing blocks. With a traveling gantry to apply force where it is needed. Sensitive enough for tight tolerances and powerful enough to work heavy forgings.

One of Greenerd’s specialties is our gantry-style straightening press. This 650 ton gantry press can move anywhere within a 312” x 120” table, allowing for an extremely flexible setup. With joystick controls for both the gantry movement and ram motion and a digital position readout, this press makes it easy for operators to accurately bend metal in the way they want.

This 100-ton straightening press is built around one of our standard HCA frames. With an extended table, a joystick for fine ram control, and a position readout accurate within a thousandth of an inch, this press allows for precise bending and shaping. The extended table on this press also includes movable pressing blocks which are easy to position and lock down, making setup quick and efficient.

This trio of presses is based on our standard bench press model. Modified with the extended tables and custom tooling mounting patterns. These straightening presses use a joystick control to apply 5-100% of nameplate tonnage. The range of tonnage available to the joystick can be limited by digital setpoints, giving finer control and improving safety.
